Valencia College is seeking Part Time Faculty, English to join our dedicated, passionate faculty team. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of teaching courses in English, literature, writing, linguistics or language arts. Other teaching assignment may be made as needed by the Department. Experience teaching online, on-campus, or in a mixed mode format is preferred.

Degree Requirement: A Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution with a major in English, literature, linguistics or applied linguistics, or MFA in Writing or Creative Writing OR 18 graduate semester hours in English, literature, writing, linguistics or applied linguistics + master's degree.
•Degrees in Education, Language Arts, or Reading OR 18 graduate semester hours in Education, Language Arts, or Reading are not eligible to teach college level courses.
•Education, Language Arts & Reading course numbers are not eligible to teach college level courses (ED, EDU, LAE, REA).
•The following course prefixes are eligible to teach college level courses: ENC, ENG, LIT, CRW, LIN, WRI, AML, or similar variation

Salary: Part-time Faculty positions are compensated based on the Faculty Salary Schedule. Compensation for part-time faculty is determined according to the highest earned degree and scheduled credit hours or equivalent. Part-Time Faculty course load may vary each semester, with credit hours not typically exceeding 12 per semester.
Work Hours: Teaching assignments may include day, night, or weekend classes.
