Description: The Research Faculty is a non-tenure track faculty position with primary responsibilities in research and contract management; on occasion, based on assignment, may be involved in teaching. The Research faculty position is primarily supported through external grants and contracts in the Youth System of Care Research to Practice Lab.
- Engages in project management and oversees multiple federal grants and contract projects in conjunction with the Principal Investigator.
- Supervising and directing YSOCRP lab staff, research associates, and student workers
Content expert for development of research protocols, curriculum, evaluation, assessment, and scholarly research on topics related to YSOCRP projects.
- Oversees and conducts data collection and data analysis activities.
Responsible for administrative compliance and regulatory aspects of the projects, including submitting IRB protocols, report writing, submitting semi-annual progress reports, and attending project-related meetings.
- Ensure that procedures for subject confidentiality, data collection and storage and other human subjects requirements are adhered to.
- Develop and maintain professional and supportive relationships with contracted partners and provider networks.
- Assist with grant-writing and formulating project scopes of work to secure future sponsored projects.
- Monitor multi-year work plans and budgets for multiple projects.
- Financial reporting with external funding sources.
-Management of external funding budgets.
-Assist with presentations to stakeholders and relevant groups.
-Teaching/Training as assigned.
-Work collaboratively with other faculty and consultants serving on projects (e.g. statisticians, web developer)
-Work collaboratively with the Office of Research and Grants staff and APU Business Office.
-Perform other duties related to the position as requested by the supervisor.
-May be needed to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.
Level: Research Faculty, Full-Time, Grant Funded, Renewable
-M.S./M.A./MPH or Ph.D. in research, social science or closely related field required.
Clinically licensed (e.g. LCSW, Psychologist) faculty highly preferred.
-Willingness and ability to maintain certifications in the responsible conduct of research.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with project team, staff liaisons, and other project stakeholders.
-Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with project team, staff liaisons, and other project stakeholders.
-Organizational skills for managing various aspects of grant/contract projects (meeting agendas, minutes, records of training events, reports) as required.
-Skill in conducting literature reviews and writing up reports.
-Skill in data entry and analysis, including tables and figures, and monitoring
-Demonstrated knowledge of computers and software for data analysis (SPSS) and word processing.
-Demonstrated knowledge in monitoring budgets and tracking expenses.
-Driverís license and transportation for site visits and training events.
-Willingness to travel to collaborating treatment sites and partner school sites throughout Southern California.
-Willingness to work occasional evening hours.
-Written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to manage details and follow through.
-Must be collaborative and an effective team member and team builder.
3-4 years of experience working as part of a social science research team.
Experience submitting proposals in CayuseSP.
Experience with training/mentoring/supervising student and junior researchers.
